Publishing Insights
AI insights are generated for your internal review first. They do not automatically appear in shared audit reports. You control exactly which insights your clients see through the publish and unpublish mechanism.
Why Publishing Exists
Section titled “Why Publishing Exists”Not every generated insight needs to be shared with clients. You might want to:
- Review before sharing — Check that the AI’s findings align with your understanding of the portal before the client sees them
- Skip irrelevant blocks — Some blocks may not be relevant to the client’s goals or engagement scope
- Refine the narrative — Publish insights in a specific order or combination that tells the right story
- Hold back sensitive findings — Some findings might require a conversation before being presented in a written report
Publishing gives you editorial control over the final report.
How to Publish Insights
Section titled “How to Publish Insights”Publishing Block Insights
Section titled “Publishing Block Insights”- Open the audit detail view.
- Navigate to the block whose insight you want to publish.
- Verify the insight status is ready (insights in “generating” or “failed” state cannot be published).
- Click the Publish button on the insight panel.
- The insight is now marked as published and will appear in any shared report for this audit.
Publishing the Executive Summary
Section titled “Publishing the Executive Summary”- Open the audit overview panel.
- Locate the executive summary section.
- Click Publish on the executive summary card.
- The summary will appear at the top of shared reports.
Bulk Publishing
Section titled “Bulk Publishing”You can publish all ready insights at once from the audit overview. Click Publish All to mark every ready block insight and the executive summary as published in a single action.
How to Unpublish Insights
Section titled “How to Unpublish Insights”If you need to remove an insight from a shared report:
- Navigate to the published insight (block or executive summary).
- Click Unpublish.
- The insight is immediately removed from the shared report.
Unpublishing does not delete the insight. It remains in your internal view and can be republished at any time.
Publishing Status Indicators
Section titled “Publishing Status Indicators”Each insight displays its current state:
| State | In Your View | In Shared Report |
|---|---|---|
| None | No insight generated | Not visible |
| Generating | Spinner / progress indicator | Not visible |
| Ready (unpublished) | Full insight visible with “Publish” button | Not visible |
| Ready (published) | Full insight visible with “Unpublish” button | Visible to anyone with report access |
| Failed | Error message with “Retry” option | Not visible |
What Clients See
Section titled “What Clients See”When a client views a shared report:
- Published block insights appear within their respective sections, showing the finding, recommendation, priority, and effort
- The published executive summary appears at the top of the report
- Unpublished insights are completely invisible — clients have no indication that additional insights exist
- Blocks with no published insight show only the score and data point breakdown, without AI commentary
Regenerating Published Insights
Section titled “Regenerating Published Insights”If you regenerate a block insight that is currently published:
- The existing published insight is replaced by the new generation.
- The insight returns to an unpublished state during regeneration.
- Once the new insight is ready, you need to explicitly publish it again.
This prevents a half-generated or unexpected insight from appearing in a live report. Always review regenerated insights before republishing.
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Review all insights before publishing — Read through each insight to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Publish the executive summary last — Generate and review all block insights first, then generate the executive summary so it reflects the full picture.
- Use unpublish for live corrections — If you notice an issue with a published insight, unpublish it immediately. Fix and republish when ready.
- Coordinate with report sharing — Publish all desired insights before sending the report link to clients. Clients see the report in real time, so publishing after sharing means the report content changes while they may be reading it.
